Welcome to Martin County’s housing crisis.

Last week, TCPalm's Lidia Dinkova reported on some East Stuart residents who are being forced out of their homes on Southeast 10th Street because the owners, their landlords, faced a decision: Fix the problems that made the 20 old wooden houses unsafe and unfit for human habitation, or tear them down.

The owners, Claudius and Ruby Lee Taylor, opted to tear them down — and everyone currently living in the homes has until June 30 to vacate the premises…
