REASURE COAST — A new study from SmartAsset, a financial advice website, ranks Stuart and Vero Beach among the top ten places to retire in Florida.
For its rankings, SmartAsset gathered data on factors that affect the quality of life for retirees, including tax burden, medical care, recreation opportunities, and social opportunities. For the social opportunities factor, they looked at the percentage of seniors and retirement centers in each city. Data was used from several government sources including the Census Bureau.
In the overall scores, combining each of these factors, Stuart placed fourth in Florida, and Vero Beach placed seventh. No other Treasure Coast city made the rankings.
